+Slow BB Problems

If you are a Blackberry user and feel your BB is often slow, try these useful tips below. It works for Curve, Pearl, Bold, Storm, Onyx, or Torch.

There are 2 (two) tips category for blackberry you should do: regularly and occasionally:

  • Regularly
    1. 1. Perform soft reset to refresh the remaining apps memory (alt + A + del together until it is rebooting by itself). Alternatively you can use QuickPull apps for soft reset.


    2. 2. Pull/unplug your BlackBerry, leave it for 1-2 minutes, to erase and delete unused files from apps usage (chatting, browsing, etc).


    3. 3. Do regular Cleaning Memory
      Choose Options, Security Options, Advanced Security Options, then choose Memory Cleaning features and choose Enable modus to activate.


    4. 4. Do Cache Cleaning
      Open Browser, press BlackBerry menu, Choose Options, Choose Cache Operations, Press all 4 Clean Memory and Close


    5. 5. Erase read emails, especially mailing lists emails. Keep only important emails.
      To erase all emails, point cursor on dates, press the BlackBerry logo button, Delete Prior


    6. 6. Check file free memory on your BlackBerry handset, by pressing alt + aA + H together. You will see file free in bytes at the bottom part of the screen. It is best to have more than 20 MB space available to allow a faster menu opening or switching to other apps
  • Occasionally
    1. 1. Erase unused apps
      How to: click Options, open Applications, choose apps you wish to, press BlackBerry button logo then Delete


    2. 2. Do swipe application when BlackBerry feels slow or when you have installed or uninstalled a lot of apps.
      How : click option, open security, choose security wipe then choose user application then wipe


    3. 3. Don’t download apps intermittently except if it official apps provided by RIM such as BBM, IM and FB. Download the apps one by one and test it for one day before fully using it to know which apps is appropriate and inappropriate with your BlackBerry operating system.


    4. 4. Uninstall the apps you just successfully downloaded and your BlackBerry feels hot and slow, then immediately uninstall the apps.


    5. 5. Make sure the multimedia file are located within the Media Card/Storage Card


    6. 6. Do host routing table
      Choose Options, enter Advanced Options, choose Host Routing Table, press BlackBerry button logo and choose Register Now.


    7. 7. Do Diagnostic Test, it’s important. This test enables you to check whether your BB is running well from the display on the screen, starting from connection, PIN, Register and Email connection.
      How to: Choose Options, Mobile Network, press BlackBerry logo, choose Diagnostic Test, press BlackBerry button logo again, choose RUN, let the process run until it is done. When you finished and failed processing this feature, redo the whole process until it is performed successfully.

+Service Books BlackBerry

Service Books is a configuration list installed within a BlackBerry device to ensure all application, email, browser, etc, run smoothly.
Customer can send individual Service Books by:

  1. Clicking the Service Books button on the Home Page menu
  2. Receiving the 'Successful' notification on your mobile device once the Service Books is sent
  3. Double checking the current Service Books inside your mobile device by accessing Options > Advanced Options > Service Books on the Menu.

 

+How to Register

Make sure that you activated your Blackberry Prepaid or Porstpaid cards in the condition of connected to GPRS, EDGE or 3G. Enter the menu when this is secured.


Follow these steps:
( Options -> Advanced options –> Host Routing Table –>click menu . -> Register Now )

+How to set Your Email

BlackBerry will show you how to set your email through visual simulation on your monitor.

Step 1
Find Email Setting icon on your BlackBerry monitor.
Choose New User collomn then click Create New Account.

Step 2

Click the little box next to 'I Have read and understand the Legal Terms and Conditions'that appears on the disclaimer window for Account Setup, after reading Blackberry Internet Service End User Agreement, click 'I Agree'.

Customer is required to enter the email address you'd like to sync in your BlackBerry. If you want to create a user name, choose "CANCEL" on the menu. Choose SERVICE AND SETTING, press CREATE USER NAME and follow the direction.

Notes: EMAIL ADDRESS AND PASSWORD are not necessary, directly press CANCEL. Choose " SERVICE AND SETTING " choose " CREATE USER NAME "

 

+Creating a user name from BlackBerry handheld

After your email address at xl.blackberry.com is verified, customer can go to the main Menu and find to CREATE USER NAME, fill inUser Name you desired, and confidential Password.
User Name enables you to sign in to www.xl.blackberry.com. When you want to open and explore another website, press LOG OUT to leave the pages. Go to Service Books menu prior to LOG OUT send Service Books. LOG OUT when you're done and wait for the email verification from RIM for your new account.

+Creating user name from xl.blackberry.com

Step. 1
Openwww.xl.blackberry.com, choose:
New User – Create New Account,

Step. 2
Click the little box next to "I Have read and understand the Legal Terms and Conditions" that appears on the disclaimer window for Account Setup, after reading Blackberry Internet Service End User Agreement, click "I Agree".

Step. 3
Enter PIN & IMEI Blackberry (option – status).

+Guide to Creating New Account on your old BB (Release PIN)

The process is similar to creating a new account on a new BB device:

  1. Enter SIM XL to old BB
  2. Activate BB service (ie. : BB ONE daily -> BB ON to 568)
  3. A signal indicator on top right corner saying GPRS / EDGE / 3G BB after you activate your BB XL, do Host Routing table (HRT) on your BB by:
    1. Access the Options Menu or BB Setting
    2. Choose ' advance options'
    3. Choose 'host routing table'
    4. a. Bold ID or code ID is on the top of the list will appear in press Menu, choose Register Now
  4. Return to the beginning menu after completing your HRT. Access the email setting menu, or wait until a browsing and redirect icon appears automatically to redirect you to Email Setting. On O.S 4.6 it will appear like BB type Bold , Javelyn, Storm, Gemini, and Tour. Access the Setup Menu first before choosing Email Setting.

  5. On email setting, choose create new account on new user
  6. Choose yes then I agree when User Agreement page appear
  7. Add email account, request will appear on your monitor, choose Cancel
  8. Choose setting
  9. Create user name option will appear on your monitor
  10. Create user name and password, then add my existing email account on email account menu (yahoo, gmail ,hotmail, dll).
  11. Choose Help after adding your email account to your menu setting on theEmail setting. Choose
  12. Choosesend service book

    If you return to the desktop, a new icon with the new name you added recently will appear.

Notes:

  1. This process is available on all types of Blackberry new or second.
  2. When an error message "an account has already exsist" appears while performing this process on a second Blackberry, please confirm to the previous user to release PIN from previous BB operator.
  3. This process is possible for RIM registered Blackberry PIN and device.
