+How do I unregister my Ring Back Tone service ?

You can unsubscribe from the XL RBT service by sending an SMS with the keyword: UNSUB to 1818. You will receive an SMS notifications that you have unsubscribed.

+What should I do when my SIMCard is locked and i forgot the PIN ?

XL will block your SIMCard If the PIN is entered incorrectly 3 times in a row. To unblock the SIMCard you will need the PUK (PIN Unblocking Key) number. To get PUK number, contact Customer Service XL at 818 (free toll) through your XL number or contact 021-579 59 818 from any other phone. Follow the instructions, and menu options for PUK number information. PUK Info can also be obtained via * 123 * 22 # from your XL number.

+Where can I get information about tariffs and promo detail ?

XL's tariff information for prepaid customers can be accessed here, Paket GILA is also available and can be selected without changing the main package (Paket Nelpon) and it can be accessed here. The package information for postpaid customers can be accessed here.

+How canI unsubscribe from a recurring SMS content service ?

You can unsubscribe a Value-added-service services such as SMS content or other service from Content Provider in 2 way
  • a) Through the UMB (* 123 #)
    • Access * 123 * 572 # from your cell phone
    • Log into the service that you want to stop by selecting the service number
    • Select number 1 to unsubscribe
    • A confirmation text message will be sent to your cell phone
  • b) Through SMS You can unsubscribe from the services by sending an SMS to the respected service number. Type UNREG services name send to the service number. Example: UNREG THR send to 9877.

+ How do I configure my phone to connect to the Internet ?

To use the Internet service, you need to first activate XL GPRS on your handset. The GPRS setting us usually activate automatically when a SIMCard in inserted. if GPRS is still not active, you can activate :
  • a) Through SMS Type : GPRS HandsetBrand HandsetType and send to 9667 Example: GPRS NOKIA 7650
  • b) Manual Setting There are two type of setting based on type of internet connection you want to make :
    • XL Mobile Internet Set the APN GPRS on your handset by using the following parameters:

      • User Name : xlgprs
      • Password : proxl
      • Dial Number : *99# (Special to Modem)

XL Broadband Internet is a wireless Internet service from XL using the latest broadband technology. With the 3G network – HSDPA - HSPA, users can surf, browse, email and chat anywhere, anytime within the range of XL Internet service.

+How can I keep my number if my phone is stolen or my SIM Card is broken ?

For Prepaid customers :
  • Visit the XL Center within 14 days after the loss. If the SIMCard is damaged, bring it along for replacement and make sure the numbers is still active or in the grace period.
  • Show your identity card that is used for your XL number registration.
For Postpaid customers :
  • Visit the XL Center within 14 days after the loss. If the SIMCard is damaged, bring it along for replacement

+How can I change my price plan through *123# ?

To browse or change the price plan press *123# and OK/YES and select Paket Nelpon. And then Select the price plan that you want. Information on Paket Nelpon can be accessed here. You can also buy Paket GILA (Additional Package) without changing the main package (Paket Nelpon). You can do this by pressing *123# and OK/YES and then select Paket GILA + SMS. +How can I transfer Balance (pulsa) to other XL users ?

XL has service named "Bagi Pulsa" which can be used to transfer your Balanced pulsa to XL users easily. Its easy, please follow this steps :
  • Press *123#
  • Choose paket 'Super Hemat'
  • Choose 'Pulsa'
  • Choose 'Bagi Pulsa' And, follow next steps. Or, you can also use Transfer Balance (pulsa) via SMS :

    • After send SMS, there will be a confirmation via SMS as below :

    Wireless Email

    BB handset will send and receive email using corporate and personal email. You can integrate up to 10 email accounts at once in one BB phone. You can see email and attachment file using these formats: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF and ASCII text.


    Calls

    Telephone is an integrated voice function support that enables you to make or receive calls. SMS is possible using the BlackBerry keyboard like that of a PC.

    Yes, we do. We provide the service for BlackBerry since 25 January 2007. XL is in partnership with Vodafone and Research In Motion (RIM) Canada, launched a BlackBerry service. XL also provides 2 types of Blackberry, such as BlackBerry Internet Service and BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

    +What is BlackBerry APN (Access Point Name) ?

    It is a dedicated line that a BB phone uses when performing data transaction. This dedicated line to perform this BlackBerry service is blackberry.net. APN Setting for BlackBerry is unnecessary to do because this service is already available in BlackBerry handset.

    +What does APN (Access Point Name) Operator mean ?

    It is a dedicated line that a BB phone uses when performing data transaction. This dedicated line to connect to the internet is different from the line BlackBerry service uses. For this APN operator there will be an extra charge (exclude BlackBerry service) or you will need to decrease your GPRS quota. Set your GPRS APN:

    +What does RIM mean ?

    RIM (Research In Motion) is the BlackBerry smartphone producer.

    +What is Push Email ?

    Push Email is a wireless messaging system conducted by a server to communicate with end user. Push Email is often mistaken for an 'immediate' email sending system. Although BlackBerry is famous for its 'immediate' services for email and calendar, the machine behind why they can be processes so fast is the push email system. The key to fast email is Customer's responsibility. BlackBerry hardware does not do the email sending process. BES, Desktop Redirector BIS, and other BlackBerry integrated push mail system are the keys.

    +What is PIN ?

    BlackBerry PIN is a specific code like that of a post code or phone number you use to send message between BlackBerry handset. BB PIN is not compatible with phone numbers, e-mail or SMS.

    +What does OS ( Operation System ) mean ?

    Operation System is the main application to run your BlackBerry. There are several versions developed by RIM and released by the operator for the users. BB operation system can be accessed by clicking the BB icon on your BlackBerry, click Tools, then click About.

    +What does the GPRS on the right corner of Blackberry screen mean ?

    On the monitor of your BB handset, you will see the "GPRS" (capital) when your BB is fully connected to the service, and "gprs" (lower case) means your BB handset is not fully connected to the BlackBerry nor the Internet service.

    +What does EDGE sign on the right corner of Blackberry screen mean ?

    Principally, it has similar meaning to GPRS, but EDGE means it performs faster than GPRS.

    +What is Service Books BlackBerry ?

    Service Books is configuration list within a BB device to ensure all active emails, browser, and others run smoothly so Customer can send individual service books.

    Click Service Books in Home Click Service Books When Service Books is sent, a pop up notification saying 'Successful' will appear on your screen and sent to your phone too. Customer can recheck service books in the phone from Options > Advanced Options > Service Books

    +How to register BB for the first time?

    Make sure your XL Blackberry Prepaid or Postpaid is active and in good network condition (GPRS or EDGE -capital- or 3G sign is on). Enter menu and follow these steps :

    +How to set E-mail for the first time in BlackBerry?

    Steps in the images are similar to the appearance on your device. Find menu/e-mail account setting on your BlackBerry



    Step 1 Choose New User – Create New Account,



    Step 2 Blackberry Term & Condition agreement will appear . Click "I Have read and..." and click the button "I Agree".



    Enter your email address you wish to synchronize with your BlackBerry. Choose "CANCEL" if you need to create a new user name on the menu. On the menu, a multiple choices will appear. Please select SERVICE DAN SETTING -> Creat USER NAME and follow the steps EMAIL ADDRESS AND PASSWORD instructions will appear. Select CANCEL. Choose " SERVICE AND SETTING " and choose " CREATE USER NAME "

    +How to create User Name from my BlackBerry ?

    Go to the main menu after your receive a verification from the xl.blackberry.com email address. Create User Name and password you wish to use. This user name will enable you to access www.xl.blackberry.com. A new menu LOG-OUT will appear in the xl.blackberry.com after you created a user name and account, to confirm that your activation process is completed. Before logging out, please go to the service book menu, click to send service book. Wait for RIM email verification to certify your account.

    +How to create User Name from xl.blackberry.com ?

    What if I failed to browse?

     

    Steps to recover:

    1. Check your setting: OPTION – ADVANCED OPTION – BROWSER – DEFAULT BROWSER and MDS CONFIGURATION set in INTERNET BROWSER not XL WAP because it will debit your credit (not unlimited)

    2. Make sure you choose BROWSER – menu - OPTION – BROWSER COFIGURATION – BROWSER – INTERNET BRO

    3. If this is the respond when you failed to browse:

    Recommendation:

    1. Check your designated website

    2. Close your browser by clicking – CLOSE – then reopen

    3. Type manually your web address, not from link, bookmark or history

    4. Do clear cache to refresh. How to: BROWSER – menu - OPTION – CACHE OPERATIONS - clear all the unnecessary histories.

    5. Test browsing to other web address, or return to the previous address to check whether it has access problem or device problem.

    +What is P3BB Process (First Aid Act of BlackBerry) ?

    Should you encounter a troubleshooting with your BlackBerry when you are browsing, you can do a First Aid Act for your BlackBerry (P3B3).

    1. Change network manually 2G / 3G,

    For an easy way to set up your handset, you can do it via OTA (On The Air Activation), by sending SMS to 9667, with this message: "GPRS(space) Handset Brand Name (space) Handset Type". Example: "GPRS Nokia E71".

     

    +What is HSDPA? And what is the difference with 3G/GPRS network?

    HSDPA or High Speed Downlink Access is an extension of the 3G technology, which is often referred as 3.5G technology, which allows users to enjoy communication/data transfer speed up to 3.6 Mbps, thus increasing efficiency. HSDPA networks are capable of providing data transfers at speeds higher than 3G networks.

    +Does 3.5G/HSDPA support voice calls and SMS service?

    HSDPA is a purely data network, while all voice calls and SMS activities are supported by and performed on 3G network.

    +Is it possible to call/receive calls when connected to the Internet in 3G HSDPA Network?

    When you connect to the Internet via 3G or HSDPA network, you can still make voice calls or SMS at the same time. Internet services continues to run and will not be disconnected.

    However, Internet access speed may be reduced when you make phone calls at the same time. This depends on the network conditions at that specific moment.

    +How do I know if I am connected with HSDPA or 3G network?

    The sign or icon will vary depending on the type of handset and modem.

    Before you connect to the Internet, while you are on 3G or HSDPA network, the handset or modem will give you a sign:

    - 3G

    - UMTS

    When you are connected to the Internet and you are on HSDPA network, you will see a "HSDPA" or "3.5G" or "H" or "3G+" sign on your handset or modem.

    All the signs are not controlled by XL. Please note that the signs/symbols can be seen only during data session. In other times, notice that the 3G symbol will appear instead.

    Why HSDPA signal seen on & off when connected to the Internet?

    Don't worry. This is normal. When transferring data to your gadget, you will receive an HSDPA signal. When the data transfer process stops, you will receive a UMTS or 3G signal.

     

    +What affects download and upload speed when using HSDPA network?

    In any network, the amount of bandwidth the user get will be calculated from existing networks and protocols, but the actual bandwidth is probably smaller, which is influenced by several aspects, including:

    a. Mobile devices used and the bandwidth capacity it supports

    b. Websites and servers accessed

    c. Types of application used

    d. Conditions of the radio device

    e. Environmental conditions, distance from the network site, signal strength, condition of surrounding buildings and so on

    f. Level of network density (number of users who use the network/online at the same time)

    g. Level of Internet network congestion.

     

    + Why can I receive but not send email?

    Your Internet service provider (ISP) might block the SMTP email server. Please contact your ISP.

    * Make sure that your settings (APN, username, password) are correct.

    * You may need to contact the customer service at 817, to ensure that your GPRS is active (though in normal conditions, the SIM Card is already set for GPRS/3G).

    * You should restart the process or update the location (loc up) of your handset, by turning it off and turning it back on, or by removing the battery.

     

    +I receive an error message 619 because XL system rejects my Username & Password. What should I do?

    1. Make sure that your settings (APN, username, password) are correct.

    2. You may need to contact the customer service at 817, to ensure that your GPRS is active (though in normal conditions, the SIM Card is already set for GPRS/3G).

    3. You should restart the process or update the location (loc up) of your handset, by turning it off and turning it back on, or by removing the battery.

    +What should I do when I receive an error message like the following due to insufficient credit?

    Make sure that your credit is sufficient. Usually this happens because you use XL Prepaid card and you don't know the remaining balance available, or when you use XL Postpaid card and you don't know your usage limit/credit limit.

    * When you reached your quota, you should settle the bill first or increase your credit limit

    + How do I Unregister my RBT Service ?

    +How do I get RBT song code ? Where can i find the RBT that i like?

     

    a)      Through UMB (*123#)

    ·         Press *123*5# from your cell phone and then select RBT (number 2).

    ·         Select 'search'

    ·         You can search by 'Title' of 'Artist'. 

    b)      Throught XL RBT website (rbt.xl.co.id)

           You can search for songs that you like and the code information in XL RBT website (http://rbt.xl.co.id) by entering title sing or the artist.

     

    +How can I unsubscribe the content from VAS CP ?

        Anda dapat berhenti berlangganan layanan VAS CP dengan 2 cara: UMB (*123#) dan melalui SMS :

       a)      Melalui UMB (*123#)

             • Akses *123*572# dari HP anda
             • Masuk ke layanan yang akan anda hentikan dengan memilih nomor layanan
             • Pilih no 1 untuk berhenti berlangganan
             • Tunggu sampai SMS konfirmasi dikirimkan ke handset anda.

    b)      Melalui SMS

    Anda dapat berhenti berlangganan layanan VAS CP dengan mengirimkan SMS ke SDC layanannya. Ketik UNREG<spasi>layanan kirim keSDC (4 digit-awal nomor pengirim).

    + How can I unsubscribe the content from Xpressive SMS (XSMS) service ?

        You can unsubscribe a Xpressive SMS service in 2 ways: UMB (*123#) and through SMS :

       a)      Through UMB (*123#), Information to unsubscribe :

             • Press *123*577# or *123*5*7*7# from your cell phone          • Select no. 5 to "XSMS Info"          • Select no. 4 to "Unsubscribe"         

    b)      Through SMS

    You can unsubsscribe Xpressive SMS service by sending an SMS UNREG to SDC 2767. Type UNREG send to 2767.

    +What is “SMS-SPAM” ?

    Spam is any unsolicited and generally unwelcome commercial communication used for direct marketing purposes where the sender is not entitled to send the message to you for example where the person who receives the message has no relationship with the sender of the message. In the case of mobile customers, Spam takes the form of unwanted text messages, picture messages and emails. Most companies or individuals that send Spam are trying to sell something or promote a new product or service. For example, some will announce that you have been lucky enough to win a prize in a competition and that all you need to do is ring a certain number to learn what it is and how to collect it. Sometimes the number in question will be a premium rate number and you will either find that at the end of a long message nothing happens, or that the value of the prize is considerably less than the cost of the call.

       as required by national law (e.g. marketing messages, credit card applications & promoting

      communication to a premium rate number
    • Short messages or multimedia messages sent to XL customers in bulk which are fraudulent 
       (e.g. faking, spoofing, or scam messages on winning prizes, etc.)

    +Our position on SMS-SPAM ?

    XL stringently guards its customers' personal details and does not share these details with third parties for their marketing purposes. Third parties can obtain your details in a number of ways. For instance, you details may be obtained through using other services they offer or on entry into a quiz or promotion. When your details are obtained it is a legal requirement that you are given the opportunity to opt out of receiving communications. Any subsequent communications should include contact information and details on how to opt out.
